A Poet

ART: The truth of the artist

ART manifest in reality: The expressed truth of the artist that is understood and shared by others.

ART divinely inspired: The universally accepted truth of the artist that becomes culture.

If art is indeed the soul of humanity, then it should be expected that any degradation of the tools of art, either through the corrupting influence of ego or the equally destructive presence of sloth, will decay the worth and advancement of society.

Academia, feeds upon itself and therefore becomes irrelevant and an enemy of art. Essentially, it only exists to perpetuate itself. Confused and pointless like a rat in a maze.

Once upon a time there was a man of noble birth who was expelled from the world of academia for being a questioner, thought provoker and truth teller. They tossed him out on his ear, one of their own no less! He was an artist, poet, fool, lover, friend, lunatic, political rebel, religious enemy, legend in the making, charmer, gift giver, die hard romantic and sadly, a tragedy: Percy Bysshe Shelley. Contrary to popular belief, the oldest profession is rebellion, not prostitution. Mr. Shelley had a great deal to say about life in this world. It's odd how pertinent his observations are.

Find out what language is for and how effective it is when the individual wielding the mighty pen is an expert and not a pretender. If Shelley were alive now, he would perhaps be disturbed and shocked by the decay of a language he adored; a language which immortalized him. He would not be surprised at the role the academics have played in it's demise. In fact, I think I may hear his sardonic laughter right now.

Hmmm...I wonder who I'll discuss tomorrow? There are so many and by golly, they set a standard we've not matched, let alone surpassed. Time for a renaissance? You better believe it!
